Kick-off Meeting of Digita@l Literacy Portal Project

The kick-off meeting of the “Dijit@l Literacy Portal” project prepared by the European Union and Foreign Relations Office of Bilecik Governorship for the 2020 Erasmus+ KA204 Strategic Partnership Program in the Field of Adult Education published by the Turkish National Agency was held on October 4-5, 2021.

Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University Rector Prof. Dr. Şükrü Beydemir, at the opening ceremony attended by Deputy Governor Yunus Fatih Kadiroğlu and project partners, reminded that the project in which the university is a partner will be implemented for a period of 24 months.

Stating that they took part as a project coordinator and a project partner in a project within the scope of Vocational Education Strategic Partnerships of the University, Rector Prof. Dr. Beydemir collaborated with project partners on “digital literacy and information literacy, effective use of digital resources, virtual security, digital footprint, technology and media literacy, 21st century basic skills and digital technology tools that can be used in the education and training process” through the portal prepared. Beydemir also stated that “Within the scope of the project, resources that offer massive open course resources and educational content, as well as content on digital literacy for people with disabilities, will be made available to all adults at national and international level”.

Provincial Planning and Coordination Manager İbrahim Bektaş stated that the aim of the project is to reach individuals in all areas of life such as social life, business and communication, to reach accurate and reliable information, to analyze, question and evaluate the information and documents obtained, and to develop digital literacy skills as a requirement of their individual responsibilities and to create an e-learning platform that teaches techniques.

The local partners of the project, Bilecik Seyh Edebali University and the Provincial Directorate of National Education, and the abroad partners of the project, which included partners from Spain, Greece, Sweden, Croatia and England, were presented by the coordinator Pervin Köse, after the presentation of Deputy Governor Yunus Fatih Kadiroğlu and BSEU Rector Prof. Dr. Beydemir gave certificates to the project partners.
